How to Delete Location Data from iOS 13 Photos.

Whenever you capture something with your phone, then your device automatically collects location data using the location service of your device. This helps your photos app to organize images according to the location of the pictures. This feature is indeed handy and makes your captured shots even more memorable since you can see where you were at that moment when an image was taken. You can view all of the photos sorted by the location. For instance, if you had a family trip to Switzerland in the past, then the Photos app will show you all pictures of that location labeled with “Switzerland’s.”

Why Should You Remove Location Data from Your Photos?

You may want to remove the location data from your photos due to a reason or two. One reason can be that you don’t want to reveal your location to the public while sharing photos on social platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Yes, people like your followers and friends can see where was the picture taken. When a photo is shared on social platforms, it contains tagged geolocation coordinates in the picture’s EXIF data. Once an image is shared online, people can manage to know the location of that photo in their Photo application.mcafee.com/activate

Do you know when a person shares a photo on Twitter, or other social network native data of that photo is shared, such as location and more? So you may feel worried while posting a photo which was taken in or near your house because people can see where it was taken. If you post photos publicly on social networks, then anyone can see your location no matter whether they know you or not.

Removing Location Data from Photos on iOS 12 Phones

If yes, then you can see this method to do the same thing. iOS 12 also allows one to restrict location data on images while sharing. However, removing location access from a picture in 2 is not that straightforward and requires a bit of more steps to accomplish. Here’s how to do it:

Go to the Settings.
Scroll downwards and then click on the “Privacy” option. Now head to the Locations Services option.
Head to Camera.
Hit the Never button to disallow location access for the Camera app.
From now on, your camera app won’t be able to fetch the location of your device while taking a photo. That means your photos will not have the location details. So you can freely share your images anywhere because it won’t spoil your location information.

Your old images will still have the location data, so if you share one of those pics, and your location will also be shared on the social network.
